Wiring the Gauges
Ok...so most of you know I hate wires. But in the sake of saving money I am putting them in myself. My Dad is very handy with with wires though.
ok. I have a Boost/Vac gauge and a Wideband o2 gauge. I likes Bakers idea on "add a fuse" http://www.hummerxclub.com/tech/images/fuse2.jpg But I want to wire them into the headlight switch for the dimmer function and not having the lights on all the time. Can I still do the dimmer function with the "add a fuse" or will I just have to splice the wire in and add an inline fuse? Thanks for the help, Scott

I have my boost gauge wired so that it dims with my gauges. I just took the headlight switch out and found the right wire and spliced the power wire for my gauge into that. I didn't dim the wideband because it's not overly bright, but it's almost impossible to see at night with the boost gauge lit up full blast.
For the wideband I found a wire in the fuseblock on the left side under the dash that had constant power when the key is on and spliced into that. I picked up a radioshack in line fuse holder and put that in there too.

Thanks D.
Do you know by chance the color of the power wire of the headlight switch and the color of the fuse block wire? Also you inline fused both gauges?

A kid I know did an install guide heres what was on his guide:
First I removed the dash gauges (remove headlight knob, remove top two screws holding plastic frame in place, then remove several screws holding the gauges in place. oh and remove the harnesses in the gauges.). After this was the most nerve racking part of my entire install; cutting a hole in my dashboard. I was using autometers dual gauge pod that mounts on top of your dash. I measure 100 million times and finally cut a 3x3 square in my dash with a dremel so that I could feed the wires to the gauges. -The fuel pressure sensor required a special adapter (autometer part 3280) but I got it on ebay for 4 bucks. -I fed the fuel pressure sensor harness and boost pressure vacuum line through an existing grommet in the firewall. I just sliced a small slit in it so that I could get them through. -I t'ed into the vacuum line that is going to the driver's side fuel rail (red hose) for the boost pressure gauge. -For the lighting for both gauges I spliced into the dark blue wire with a white stripe that is coming off of the headlight knob. This makes it so the gauges light up with the dash lights and actually dim accordingly. -My fuel pressure gauge is electric and requires a 12v constant. for this I tapped into the wire going to fuse #1 under the steering wheel. This fuse is for the cigarette lighter. -Once everything was hooked up and the gauges looked good I bolted the dash pod into place. Man those gauges look good. (autometer sport comp II) And heres the whole page for it: Procharger Install/Walkthrough/Tips and Advice - Ford Mustang Forums Hope that helps dude.

Lol I have like 10 lmao.
So when he said he t'ed into the red hose on the driver's side, the gauge will pick up the Boost and Vacuum Signal right?
