that is how they are wired from ford. you can change it if you want but that is the way they work from the factory.

Ya you wont really need highbeams with HIDs anyways. Shit with factory lights i didn't even use em.

And as everybody else said, its how it was wired from factory. You just never looked at your headlights with high beams on hehe.

Last I heard and I'm not sure where from, but every car's fog's turn off when the Hi-beams go on. Factory settings for all.

its actually a fed law that you cant have fogs on with high beams. Dont ask me why but it is. If you put a aftermarket set of fogs on with just a switch, you could get nailed by a dick cop for having fogs on with brights. dont ask me why lol

Why? Ok Just poking fun. I've never understood that stupid law myself. Hell I don't notice any difference using my fog lights in the fog anyway's. I never turn mine on. Around here it's illegal to run fog's with your lights on dim also. Atleast that's what a dick headed trooper told my cousin.

Good to know jazzer! So that relay that you were talking about (30 amp) makes the fogs a little brighter with headlights on?

The 30 amp fuse was just to ensure that the contact points are heavy duty so as not to "fry" under the amperage draw of the fogs. The brightness of lights are in direct proportion to the amperage draw which is dictated by the bulbs. Only a larger wattage bulb will draw more amperage and hence be brighter.

let me rephrase this....my fog lights turn off and thats it. i have dual-beam HID's, and the headlights don't like change when i turn on my high beams.

So you're like saying that like (just messing with ya ha!).

Basically what you're saying is that when you turn on your high beams that not only does the fogs turn off, but the highs don't actually kick in? So it stays low beams the whole time, or do the lows turn off also?
