Mach 1 hood........

Hey all, Im pretty new still to the mustang scene so i apologize if this is a noob question. Im VERY interested in putting a mach 1 and shaker system in my mustang. I've looked into the CDC shaker system but really am not interested in cutting into my stock hood. So my question is will a mach 1 hood fit on my 2002 GT? Ive been looking online for mach 1 hoods but all of them are saying 03-04 only

. Any insight will be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks guys!!!

You want it for power or for the looks? It isn't functional till 70mph i heard, and even then minimal. Im not positive if the CDC and the shaker hood from a mach are the same fit. Hopefully someone else can chime in. I would just cut the stocker, hell i thru mine away. Could find another for cheap if it got messed up.

Although it does look pretty badass

im pretty sure it would, maybe its ram air part wont hook up but i found some mach 1/shaker hoods for your year at americanmuscle.com. just look around

I dont understand why it only says 03-04 because i thought all the 99-04 mustangs were the same cosmetically so im not sure :/ Im not really looking for a power gain so much just love the way it looks

they say that because 03-04 were the only years of the mach one.

the intake system is a lil different. so yes the hood will fit but the ram air might not work

yea, i believe it still would. since its just transfering it from edge body style to edge body style. that would be like putting an 03/04 cobra hood on your car. best bet would be to find a totalled mach one and get all the air intake peices off of it. that way you have the hood, the shaker, and everything else.

That was my plan to find a totaled one or something like that. Would the hood and the actual scoop itself work regardless? Like i said, i would really love to have the full set up but at the end of the day i really want it for looks

If you order the Aftermarket CDC Shaker Hood and an OEM Stock Mach 1 hood, they will not be compatible. I have spoke to a representative at CDC when I visited and he said that the hole for the Mach 1 hood sits too far forwarder for the CDC Shaker to fit. Don't waste your money on a mach 1 hood, find a yellow GT hood and cut into that one!

Thanks sonic. I just wasn't really a huge fan of the CDC system's hood piece as it didn't sit flesh with the hood as the mach 1 hood is all in the hood.

cutting the hood for the cdc kit wouldnt even be a big deal especially since there is an overlay going over the hood anyways. if that kit wasnt so overpriced id be all over that.
