I know guys in my area (PA) running 555s on daily drivers, good traction wet and dry getting about 25k on the w/ 4.10s..

However if you need All Season (meaning snow).. Kumo ASX's get some good recommendations, stay away from Falken, Eagle F1s are always a safe choice if you wanna spend the cash!

I am convinced that summer high performance tires are the single biggest reason Mustangs have a bad reputation for winter driving. I almost got stuck on a 1/2 of packed snow and when I slid off the road in a corner my first winter I parked the car anytime it snowed. I am just amazed at the continued advocacy for Nitto 555s. You and I must be the only people on the forum that have to drive our cars in the snow. Even after 35,000 miles my Continental's still handle good in 2 inches of snow. I actually get around better than most front wheel drive cars.

on tire rack, i suggest you DO NOT get sumitomos, you will be replacing them every few months.

+1 for NT05. Awesome cornering tire imo. Granted I havent had a lot of tires (stockers, Falken 451's-craptastic, michi pilot sport A/S, 05's) but its drivable in the rain and dare I say light snow (I didnt stop on any hills though). I noticed a HUGE increase in cornering ability/speed with'em. Only bad thing I've noticed though is they seem to hum fairly loudly when it's cold outside (been around freezing here in VA a lot lately), but then again its a HP summer tire.

Any car with summer tires is gonna be bad in the snow or even freezing temps. My 555s are like driving on ice for the first 5 min or so til they get a lil heat in them. I had dedicated snow tires on my vw golf when i was in college and you would be amazed at what they could do! I drove out of parking spaces with snow above my bumpers and the car doesnt have LSD or traction control. They are a hell of alot of fun to drive in the snow with, just dont drive with em when its far out they wear REAL fast!!

Those Continental tires are rated really well and are pretty well priced. Sound like the tire on the top of my list for the future. Thanks for all your input guys.

I considered the INVO's ; according to nitos site: they have great traction, really quite and nice ride? I find that hard to believe with such a slick tire.. they are rated better with ride/sound& wet than the 555s??? if that is really the case I may go with them, execpt for one big problem: 220/260 rating.. probbly be replacing them every 10k-15k at best..
