Motor clean-UP and Paint
okay i plan on getting a shortblock soo i can start my build for my boostd 2v.. my question is what compression ratio is best for a vortech wanting to push 15-16 lbs. Next question is what can i use to clean up the block like degreaser or simple green ? and can i paint it before i assemble and anything else i should kno before starting ?

id use a combo. simple green for plastics and block degreeser for metal. Super clean works good too

if you are getting the shortblock just for the block and then you are going to be replacing the internals check the condition of the cylinder walls.
