Anyone made their seats lower?

I'm wondering if there's a way to make the drivers seat a bit lower than the lowest settings allow, it almost feels like a barstool to me since I'm somewhat tall. Some kind of bracket or bolt modification maybe?

I have the power leather seats btw.

Not that i know of. I just made my new seats work with the power seats bracket. Your really not going to be able to lower them without getting all new brackers and modding those brackets.

I have installed Recaro seats and had the rear legs cut down about 1.5". That, along with about 3" lower than the stockers, gained me LOTS of leg room between the steering wheel and headroom between the roof.

So you wanna do the whole Honeymoon in Vegas thing?

I am not sure EITHER of our g/f's would go for that. Come to think of it.... I don't think I would either ... I rather like to drive my ride and pretty attached to the gal pal as well

I've actually wondered about this too. Headroom is fine, but with my thunder thighs there's not much room between the steering wheel and my legs. Makes it pretty damn hard to work the clutch when you cant lift your left leg.

^ this was a MAJOR reason I wanted new seats

The only bigger reason was the lack of lateral support while cornering similar to that which would be better provided by a block of ice!

So without modifying the seat brackets from your Recaros, did it still sit lower than the stocker? Did it go back further than stock as well?

Has anyone tried Corbeau seats, and do sit lower and/or go back further? I was looking at the LG1's

As per my #3 post above, the Recaro seat sat about 3" lower prior to modding bracket. As for going back farther, I don't recall for sure, but I think maybe a little. I am a little over 6'1" and am probably 3" short of all the way back.

Just throwing out some more info: I'm pretty sure that Sparco's with the plate style brackets sit a few inches lower, but I dont know by how much. These cars were definitly made for someone that wasnt taller than 5'5" it seems.

*snicker* Yeah getting in and out is always kinda funny, I feel like I fold myself in and out especially with the side leg bolsters on Torino's. Glad I ended up changing the seats though. I didnt think racing seats would've been more comfortable but they are. Also I dont have to worry about being rearended anymore; once was enough for me. Being taller + stockers = fail

Americans are fat and lazy

They want power seats, power steering, power mirrors and are willing to wait in the way for a parking spot nearest the front door of the local Baskin-Robbins. They also want cars to warn them when they are too close to another car and park itself...

Jazzer is officially UN-American

hahah I remember that lexus comercial where the car parallel parks itself. I wonder how long it'll be, before someone gets in an accident and tries to sue lexus for faulty equipment; even though I bet it's got one helluva disclaimer on it already.

Richard Hammond plowed the LS460 into the cool wall before pushing it into another car with its parallel park assist on Top Gear. It was pretty funny though I bet if he had a bigger space and had actually set the virtual cones correctly it would have done fine.

I cut out all the factory riser points on my seat bracket and modified the seat base also. I'm 6'7" and have a 38" inseam and I can fit very comfortably in my '01 now. I even have enough head room to wear a helmet for the drag strip! This all required a fair amount of fabricating , but I wanted it to look factory when finished.
