sway bar removal......
The sway bar people are removing is the one that has the arms that come down into the lower control arms correct? What, if any, does this really help?

Baker, I took my front swaybar out (that is the part you are talking about here) and with a better-working driver mod, dropped an average of about .3-.4 off my e.t.
Not saying you'll see results identical to this, I mean, I was still learning how to drive her- but I do know that it helped. All my 13-second runs were with the front swaybar removed. Beware, though, once you drive it with it off, your car will turn like a truck lol! |

I drove it every day, but there was no way in hell I was going to out-corner a Silverado lol.
I think the weight distribution helped a ton in my launch, though- before, I would spin first, second, and third, and if I shifted into fourth, that too. It was just ridiculous. I know that spinning in any gears other than first and maybe second is kinda futile for the argument of sway bar removal, but when I launched at the track, it hooked and booked. I didn't feel like getting under the car again, so I just left it off for a year or so, and put it back on when I came back from the desert. |

I haven't had mine on for years. You get used to the way it handles and will forget it's not on.

not only is it supposed to help the weight transfer, but that thing is HEAVY AS HELL! for being such a small peice. I had to have taken off 100 pounds off the front end this winter, that was a nice chunk of it.

13.5 lbs is what 330Cube's list has the front sway bar weighing, FYI. Not a lot, but every little bit helps.

removing 4 bolts and dropping over 15 pounds is pretty big, imo. but compared to the 8 bolts holding the k-member in, its not much. drop the k-member and put a tubular under it and that saves some massive weight.

Hey I am not 100% on if this applies to mustangs, but if it does you should see if they make swaybar quick disconnects. That way it would take you 2 min's to remove them for the track and you can still drive home with having the stability of the swaybar

Yup, my DD is a 89 F250, so my car is way better than that even without the sway bar

With anything taken off the front of the car, you can almost double what it weighs for what you really take off it since it comes off the front. Its like trying to lift a 5 gal bucket full of water straight up, it lefts easy, now lock your elbow and try and raise it with your arm at full length. Its a lot harder. same concept goes when taking weight off the front of a car

The quick disconnect is a good idea. I haven't found any kits for the mustang, but someone might be able to modify one of the kits for jeeps/offroaders to fit our stangs.
