Will beehive springs work with vt stage 2 blower cams?

The springs that I got with my cams say max lift .550 but on the exhaust side of the cam the lift is .571. Are the beehive not good enough even if I keep the rpm down?

Just going off of what you just stated I'd say no. Patriot has a spring set that is good to .600" lift. Only $60 more and the kit comes w/ new retainers, locks, seals, and bases. Here's a link....

Patriot Performance 4.6L 2V Valve Spring Kit (99-04 GT) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

they will work but you probably need 600 lift springs to make sure you have all the seat pressure you can get so you wont loose any power at any rpm..

I was looking at that set but it says machine work is required for stock heads.

I was planning on doing this today so it sucks if these springs won't work.

Why would you put VT stage 2 blower cams in stock heads to begin with?

How would you break your engine? You probably also shouldn't do them now at that lift just because of PTV clearance issues. You'll definitely wanna notch the pistons.

I don't know exactly how it would break, maybe throwing a rod? I thought none of the vt cams had any ptv issues.

The lift doesn't cause ptv.

And no VT's dont have ptv issues. Been running mine for 2 years with "stock" heads, just have the springs and stainless steel valves when they were inspected. (so wish it was ported, i thought i asked them to get it done!)

They can only handle so much force before they break.

What is your power output? Ported heads are NOT going to hurt your engine.

installed hight 1.57
coil bind .952
That leaves .618 lift before bind
your cams .571 lift
Leaves .047 clearance

I don't know why they rate them for .550 lift.
