I disagree ^^ Ask jakassh about my set up. It was Longtubes O/R H pipe and SLP lm1. I thought it was the best sound ever. Loud like i wanted.

the cats will almost get rid of the raspyness. a friend of mine here has longtubes, catted x and LM1s. sounds VERY loud, but beautiful.

I beg to differ. the only system I like the sound of more is flowmaster. the rest of them aren't that special.

as for the difference between x and h pipe, it's just the exhaust scavenging efficiency. if you dynoed 2 identical cars one with h pipe and one with x pipe, you might see a 1 hp difference. the x pipe would probably make a few more torque, but that is all. H pipe gives a better sound though. anyone who says they can 'feel' a difference between the 2 power-wise is full of it. just get what you think sounds best! it is your car after all

i have never heard anyone disagree when saying the prochamber will give THE BEST SOUND! So hollow and deep sounding! It will be the best if you are trying to make your chosen exhaust sound the best it can. In the end though, its all opinion so its up to you!

if your going with an h pipe do mac or flow 40s. if u want to stick with the lm1 do the slp high flow catted x pipe (it comes with extensions to take out down the road for longtubes)

i no doubt "felt" a nice top end gain with my o/r x as opposed to the stock catted h...also proved a difference when i raced my buddies 99 cobra after the x pipe...

since the h-pipe choices are pretty limited for 96-04, this one seem to workout pretty well, I've had it on my car at one time & installed a few for other folk's.
