+1 I've had both as well (k&n and Airaid) & there is no comparison, the Airaid kit is better in every way I can think of.

I've always raced in the NMRA, not all the events though, just added it to my sig when I ordered my new car number decals & it was fresh on my mind.
as for the intake, its by far the best I've had on the car yet & I've probubly went thru 10-15 since I've had the car.

Oh very cool bro.

I had the K&N intake, and I could see how "cheap" it was where the IAC and PCV hoses connected to the intake tube, but I mean how else can it be SO much better?

the main things I liked about the Airaid kit is the "box" the filter sits in is so much better of a design than the K&N & the fact that the nipples for the IAC & breather are screwed in (I run a small clamp on breather on the valve cover & just screwed a plug into where the nipple should be for the breather hose), plus the fit & finish is so much nicer than the other kits out there.

Ok cool. Ya right now I have a breather as well on the driver side valve cover so I made a plug with I wanna say a 3/8 barb fitting and some hose plug on the stock intake tube. I wonder if that fitting will screw in on the Airaid tube.

just use a 1/2" pipe plug to block the hole off & you'll be all set. these will give you an idea what it looks like,

Sweet. That's sort of how mine looks lol. I'll have to get pix of mine. I'll look into that plug though if I get this intake, but that will only be if I decide to go nitrous build over supercharger build.

Well I'm stuck between the 2. I like the nitrous idea, but same w/ the supercharger. Either way I'm thinking of doing the 5.0L big bore. The only difference would be the pistons (either -15cc for nitrous or -25cc for supercharger). The compressions, from what I've calculated would be 10.45:1 for nitrous, and 9.24:1 for supercharger.

sounds ok, but to each-his-own. nitrous gets far too expensive & blowers are worthless for most types of drag racing, so I'll be staying N/A.

Ya well hopefully by then I'll have my second pony in my stable (Termi or 50th anny GT when it comes out), so it won't matter too much to me.

That's a pretty clean install, well written too. I think it's sticky-worthy. Some people are practically clueless with things even as simple as CAI installs, so it'd help. We all had to start somewhere, and learn. Given that some people are just getting into cars, (the performance aspect of it) and would like it explained, step by step.
