I got pull on by a so call "stock" LT1

Guys, i was street racing in Indy a few weekends back, a guy in what he called a stock like 96-97 z-28 5 speed wanted to run..

well we did a second gear pull and he walked me..Now i got the following done,

3.73's
X-pipe, no cats, to flowmasters
K&N CAI
75mm, with matching upper intake(trick flow)
MGW shrot throw,
275 tire bridgestone
93 octane Tune, by diablo tuner.

And he pulled me and he said it was stock.... Is this right???????

heads, cam, intake - a hot cam in an lt1 will walk a stock PI 4.6. I bet you would win from a dig.

H/C/I is Heads/Cams/Intake.

You should have beat the LT1. With my mods now (not supercharged) I held up good with an LS1 with exhaust and intake. I was right next to him til 110mph then had to hit 5th .

If I were you, Id go with nitrous if you dont want to do a supercharger. Do Zex kit and spray 100shot

well would a 100 shot be to much for my engine? its got 145,000 miles on it.... what about just a 50 or 75? And would my tunner be able to tune for that?

Ive heard the 2V motors last for a while. Past 200k. Im not 100% sure though. YOu could save for a built bottom end, or just look for a 2V Shortblock.

If not, then just spray her with a 75 wet shot. Get a window switch, purge kit, bottle warmer, 1 step colder spark plugs. All that can be bought on American Muscle.

i dont get why everyone thinks 2v vs lt1 is a drivers race stock for stock the lt1 makes 20-30 more rwhp.

the intake on the lt1 and ls1 look alot different. just google them.

because over half of those lt1's were mated to an automatic tranmission with 2.73's for a rearend.

all GT's came with 3.27's after 99 if not higher for the 3v's

The fastest i've ever seen a stock lt1 run down the quarter was 13.6... there are members here who have pulled 13.8's in stock PI GT's. that 20-30 hp equals out to about .2-3 tengths.

people say it's a drivers race because it is a drivers race. someone who shifts slow and has no control of the car when launching can easily loose over a second..... 2-3 tengths mean nothing at the same time, they mean the entire race.....

ls1>lt1 imo. u can build a sick lt1 for cheap though.

even with something very minor on his car they respond so well to mods. with your mods what did you make? 25Xrwhp? ive seen an lt1 dyno at 254rwhp stock down to the filter. im sure there are higher #s out there too. the lt1s and ls1s are so underrated from the factory. too bad the fbodys look like shit.

i ran 13.82, 13.88, 13,89, 13.89, 13.90 in my 2v bone stock im agreeing with you that from a dig it is alot closer of a race. but the lt1s and ls1s pull alot harder uptop. line up a stock lt1 against a stock 2v with the exception of a few suspension goodies. i bet that the 2v could run with the lt1 in the 1/4 mile. but from a roll 40-100 or 40-100+ whatever it may be its a totally different ball game against the ls1/lt1 cars.

I agree with you. The low gearing doesnt help the LT1's cause. But they do make good horsepower and pull good up past 100mph.

I still think they look hideous and a retarded Sebring

From what i remember....
Stock z-28 = about 290 HP. Stock Lt1 = about 300 HP. Stock Ls1 = about 330 HP.
Stock mustang PI 4.6L = about 230HP.

With your list of mods your probably at 250HP.
