C4 Trans Swap.

I'm starting to miss my highly modified 03 mustang that i sold last year so i am in the market for another 99-04 in the next month or so. My last car had a 5 speed but this time i want to go with an auto. It will be a street/strip car, probably 550 horse on spray. The question is should i go with an automatic car and install a higher stall converter? Or should i buy a stick car and swap in a C4? I happen to have a built c4 with a 3500 stall convertor in my garage so the only cost would be for a bellhousing, flywheel, shifter, and driveshaft (which would run about $1000).

Will the stock auto trans with a convertor and a tune to firm up the shifts handle what i want to do? It would save my a little bit of money that i could put into engine parts.

Jon

i stock auto would need some modifications to get it to do well but once you mod the 4R70W they are tuff as nails.
