check engine light after messing with IAC!!!

ok, i read the topic about putting an IAC restrictor plate in to make the RPM's Drop faster. i made my own plate and put it in, with 9/32 sized holes and it definately worked. i went on a test drive and everything seemed fine. the rpm's drop faster and there isnt as much as a lag. after i got home i was screwing with my car and i unplugged the IAC plug while the car was running. now the check engine light is on. i tried shutting off my car, unhooking the battery, plugging the IAC back in, then starting it again but the light is still on. does anyone know what the problem might be?

leave the battery unhooked for about 5-10 mins..
give the car time to reflash.

if that doesn't work it probably has to do with your new resrtictor plate

ok thanks i'll try that. and i have a couple more questions while im at it..

1) if i got a tuner like an X-Cal 2 would tell me codes, like if the engine light was on?

2) is there an Off road H-pipe that will hook to my stock exhaust manifolds, that i can unbolt the upper section of it and put long tube headers on it later down the road? that question sounds kinda confusing but i think its understandable lol.

i know o/r h pipes DO hook right up but i don't think anyone makes 2 piece o/r pipes

And on that exhaust, Yes it is possible. At americanmuscle.com you can buy an off road h-pipe that is both shorty and normal length. I have looked into it and thought it was a great idea. I think its made by MAC but I am not forsure.

Here is the link for one for your car.
