My FMIC Setup

Okay, so I took the hood latch support out and gave me all the room I needed. Heres what I have:

Would be coming off of the V1 Head Unit:

Held up by the jackstand for the time being. Mounts onto the radiator support:

Going up to the fenderwell

Then the pain in the ass, making this part work and fit togeather right:

Just trying to get it to fit right into the throttle body. I also have the PMAS blow through MAF...Do I need to cut a hole by the fender well to make the piping fit and the air filter?

i had to cut the hole larger for my afm powerpipe and piping to go through. With kits like that, cutting may be necessary. You just want the piping to be straight for about 6" before going into the maf.

Yea, Im cutting a larger hole where the fenderwell is. Hoping I can make it fit right. Looks like a pain in the ass, the 2nd pipe coming off the throttle body on the last picture.

Ill do the best I can, I scheduled a dyno tune for saturday so Im getting most of this out of the way tonight, and tomorrow should be the oil pan tap, bracket assembly and finishing it. Idc if Im up til 3am tomorrow night, Ill have it done by 9am for my dyno tune lol.

Jesus these Vortech instructions are garbage. They suck they give the worst directions ever. Its gettin me aggrivated because they dont explain anything thouroughly. This is whats going to hold me up, plus theres some stupid shit I have to do to. I need to file where the idler pulleys go. Have to bend an AC line. I need to cut a hole where my fenderwell is, but I cant cut where I wanted to because theres a plastic box it looks like where I needed to. F*CK! I really really wanted to bring it in Saturday morning to have it tuned. Cause hes not opened on Sundays and I have to work effin Monday morning 6-2:30, and through the rest of the week. Gay

Sorry, I needed to vent real quick.

Yea its just aggrivating. The bracket assembly is stupid....Accually its not bad, but the instructions get me fuckin heated because it doesnt show or explain anything.

Plus I couldnt find the feeler gauge to measure the spark plugs, so that fuckin held me up.

So tomorrow this is what has to get done, longshot? yes:

Go to Sears and get the fieler gauge and 3/8 NPT tap.
Spark plugs gapped and put on
Top of the motor all put back, throttle body and vacuum lines
Measure the intercooler and get it dead center with the radiator support
Drill holes into the radiator support and mount the intercooler
Mount the head unit on the the bracket, and pulleys
File the areas were the pulleys go, and bend the AC line
Drain the antifreeze and cut the coolant hose
set the piping up for the intercooler
Clock the head unit the right way
Mount the mounting bracket
Oil pan tap and connect everything to the bracket, and throw the belt on

And I think thats it. Can I get that all done from about 3pm til about 3am? Me and my dad....I fuckin hope so.

For the coolant hose. Just drain it till the resivoiur is drained. Then go a little more. Then clamp the hose with some clamp (sears has them if you dont).

Youll get it done. Dont worry. Just stay focused and youll have it.
I could probobly pull that off with my buddy in 12 hours so you can to.

Id go to sears first thing tommarow. Then buckle down for the night. Take care of the oil pan first. Its the part you didnt want to do. So start on it early so you dont feel rushed later in the night and your starting fresh.

Yea true.

I definatley gotta finish the top of the motor just to get it out of the way. Just gap the plugs and put the TB back on and done. That should take a half hour.

Then do the oil pan, and start plugging away. I hope I can get it all done tomorrow.

+1 to shark. Start on the hardest part first, so when you are tired later and pissed off you don't break things :p

Half that stuff if CAKE, don't sweat it. Putting in plugs takes what 3 mins? I personally think setting up the piping will be the biggest pain. And tapping the oil pan is second.

Definatley agreed. I think the instructions get me more stressed than anything. They dont explain anything. There garbage. Thats whats pissing me off the most. I have the intercooler pretty much lined up, just the last 2 pipes going to the throttle body have a wierd fitment....I think I can get it to work though.
