3.55 vs 3.73 S.C. GT
So I took my dads car out for a spin, 03 Mach exhaust intake and the stock 3.55's.
The car feels so sick in 3rd gear. I fuckin love how hard it pulls, and its a nice long pull. So for track purposes, would 3.55's hurt me? Hitting 4th alittle before the traps? Or will I still be good? Im not sure how long the gears are with 3.73's, but just on his Mach with 3.55's making 290rwhp and 314rwtq feels amazing. Never mind around 360/360.

3.73s if ur going for the track, 3.55s are more of a highway gear

I might be doing highway shit too. How are u going through the traps with 4.10's? Taller tire?
I can get 3.73's for $100 brand new from someone. Which saves me $50, but I wanan be happy with my gear selection.

IMO 4:10s would be good for 450rwhp below(depending on application) But yea you need a 28in tall for the track but street your fine. Depends what your looking for. There are S197 guys with KB's and TVS with 4:10s and love it.

I wonder what Ill be trapping at, at the track. I should be making Cobra numbers stock at the very least. They weigh more because of the IRS, and they suck at launching because of the IRS...not suck, but not as good as SRA. I think they trap at 114mph stock right? So around that area Id think?

Lol both. Which is possible to do. Ill do more track then highway. Occasional highway shit, but most id go in a race is like 120...maybe alittle more if it was neck and neck.
But Im not into building a full out track car. I wanna make it really good in the twisties too.

4:10s IMO then.
highway I would say 3:73s since your top speed will be higher. but you have a centri, so remember RPM builds boost.

I know i know, I cant do 4.10's...I accually dont want to. The one thing I hate about 4.10's is not really feeling any gear pull that long. It wraps up so quick.
Ill just go 3.73's for sure. And have a built rear end too

For a supercharger you don't want long gears. Superchargers USE rpms to make power. The faster your engine spins the faster it makes power to the ground. Simple concept. I know this guy who was running 700 rwhp with 4:10 gears and he says he would be dissapointed if he had 3:73. If I were supercharging my car I would keep the 4:10's in.

I have run 3.27's 3.31's 3.55's and 3.73's I have run 220, 240, 260 and 440 rwhp. For a 12-13 sec car I suggest 4.10s. For an 10-11 sec car I suggest 3.73's. I would not run 4.10s on the streets in houston with over 400 hp.

Personal opinion. Everyone is entitled to one. A buddy of mine has a 680 rwhp cobra has a kenne bell on it, and he has 4:10s and will not change them.

So much fear for the gear
Most people under-gear for silly reasons. That just give us the advantage with our 4.10's
