Here's a different kind of question.. (belts)
Ok, so i figured out one of my squeals. And i think it is from the belt. Only happens from start up then goes away after a few miles. Got worse when i damaged the belt a bit with some degreaser hehe. I used a hose to figure out if it was pulleys (what it usually is) and sound is coming in between idler's and kb pulley. Not any of the individual pulleys.
Anyways, how can i test this theory? Im not spraying it with wd'40 lol. What about maybe a soaked cloth on the belt while it is running? Would that work you guys think? Don't want any chemicals that could add to supercharger slip...

wd 40 was short term. Made those pulleys squeal like crazy after awhile. But they are replaced. I think it is the BELT, i don't want to spray the belt with wd40. My boost would go from 16 to 10. I would be slipping like... baker!!

Grease all the pulleys. With legit grease.
Dont spray the belt whatever you do. It ruins the belt

Want to test belt not pulleys. I think belt is trashed with all of the shit that has got on it over time (mostly wd40 from idler problem).

Im kinda scared of any grease/lube. Do you think water could work as a short 1 min trial thing? Grease would get on the pulleys and shiz.

Grease. It wont hurt anything trust me. You might gain 1 hp from it if you do all your pulleys.

Only to test the belt similar to if you sprayed it with wd40. Put it in a squirt bottle, set the nozzle to a stream rather than a mist, then squirt just the belt. The water will act like a lubricant to shut it up for a second if the sound is indeed from the belt. I wouldnt go running the water hose on it or similar. |

Why not water? Im sure water splashes on crank pulley and gets belt a little wet every once in awhile? And how would grease on the belt giving me slip on the kb give me hp :p Thats my reasoning hehe. Water will go away, but lube will stay on that shit.

Yeah thats what i was leaning towards ajm. Definitely not soaking the thing with a hose, more like a little big from a soaked rag or water bottle.
