Diablo Tuner

I bought my car with some goodies already installed and I'm trying to find out if some are out of date and need to be replaced. It has a Diablo Delta Chip that was done by the first owner ( I'm #3 ) and I have no clue how it was set up. Would it be better if I trashed it and went with a Predator?

defenately. chips on these cars are a pain, you'll be much better off with a handheld.

Do I just disconnect the wires and start over with a hand held? It has a 3 position toggle switch for 89 oct, 93 oct, and NOS.

pretty much just unplug it & plug the computer harness back in to the computer. you can leave the switch in for something else or remove it as well.

Thanks dude...This is a daily driver but I want it a little faster than stock. I plan on going with a K&N cai and Steeda udp. That will be as far as I go with the mods.

Hey man that steeda UDP isn't gonna give you much with just the few mods from what I have heard it won't even be noticable for basic mods .. but I could be wrong and have been mis informed if I am someone please correct me!

Go with SCT for the hand-held tuner

hmm...well i ran a BBK set on my 2v (which I'm selling because i have a 4v motor) i didnt notice any real power gains as 02GT89 said...just that the motor seemed to revv up just a little bit faster. oh, and they looked alot prettier than stock

Would you do CAI instead of UDP? Or just do both and say the hell with it. Like i said before, I'm looking for better than stock. I dont really want a 400 hp DD. Well, yeah I do but....

haha 400 would be nice...but...
&&to be honest, a CAI isnt a bad start. JLT is the way to go if you're gonna spend the money tho. I had one on my old 2v set-up and i liked it. with a throttle body and a trickflow upper plenum, it made a ridiculously loud intake noise when you would step on it

I want the CAI mainly because of the way the stock air intake is. Whoever designed it needs to be beat with a dead cat. That is a total piece of shit design. The one in my old '88 LX was better than that.

I got a JLT true CAI in mine. It's a good CAI and puts the filter in front of the front right wheel. Give me a few mins and i will put up some photos of where it sits and how it looks.
