Cut-outs on a boosted car

Has anyone ever done this? Does back pressure affect boosted cars? I was just thinking about doing it on my car just for the heck of it for the sound of the cams. I was only gonna use mechanical cut-outs and i was only gonna do it if i can reach them from outside the car without jacking it up. its just an idea. but if its gonna hurt me as far as me needing back pressure, i wasnt gonna waste my time or money on doing it.

I think it would help on a boosted car. Kinda the same way that straight through mufflers are better on boosted cars. hell i know they didnt hurt me on my N/A car when i had them on

u might loose low end torque but should improve top end hp i would think...i run dumped flowmasters on my car...it dumps before the axles..but no muffler back pressure i would think wouldnt effect it much..look at all the subarus and shit that run straight pipes and turbo backs..the faster you can get air in then out equals more power

well... i really want turn downs because they sound sick, ESPECIALLY on a cammed boosted car. BUT i hate the drone more than i like turn downs. lol. so i was trying to meet in the middle and have something i could use only when i wanted it. lol

Will you have LT's? I honestly don't think you would even notice a difference at all with a boosted car. It would be under the 10hp range. In either direction. If you have LT's you will have scavenging and the velocity will be up.

Keep in mind, it is velocity not back pressure Just usually the smaller pipe sometimes has more velocity, not necessary back pressure.

I think you would be fine with it if you wanted to do it.
