yeah, i might actually go with the nt05s. they are like $10 more per tire (for 315s) and are supposedly great. i still have a bit of life left in my BFG gforce sports though so it might be a while.

Yea, theyd be good for u. Because I remember u saying u dont put a lot of miles on it. Mines a DD, i put like 12-14k a year. So I figure the NT555's would be perfect for me.

yes. 555 is their older tire that has been out for 10+ years. It comes in 555 (street) and 555R (drag radial).

nt05 is their newer tire. It comes in street (nt05) and drag radial (nt05R) as well. The NT05 is supposed to be better in all aspects than the 555, and same with the NT05R vs 555R... the only downside is the NT05 line is more expensive.

i would have to agree, 555rs are rated for 10k miles (100 treadwear), and with a DD that can go by fast, especially if you're hard on the gas or spin them a few times. 10k becomes 6-7k with some heavy driving/track use.

I just found deep dish bullit rims (anthricite, chrome lip, 17x9 front, 17x10 rear), and they came mounted with sumitomo HTZ tires (245/45/17 & 315/35/17 rears) for only $1000!. Not only that, but he gave me two used (~50%) 555Rs (drag radials) that are 315/35/17 in size as well. Between selling my stock rims and those drag radials I am going to get my deep dish bullets and new tires for 100 dollars. go figure.

NT05R's Review

May want to read this. the guy talks about how much he loves his NT05 with 600RWHP. and then goes into talking about the NT05r.

I do not really like my 555s. I don't even have gears and it can't hold 1st gear. I held 1st gear easy for about a month. Now 1st gear is useless even without popping the clutch. Maybe i need to do a good burn out. but still, there are better tires out there. But for a daily driver, yeah i guess they are great, but for as much as i paid for them, i wouldn't buy them again from a performance point of view.

I dont know how these will handle on a RWD car but I am also thinking of putting them on my Cobra. I just got a set for my EVO, they are amazing on the EVO, that is why I will be putting a set on the Terminator.

are you talking about the 555s or the NT05? If you look at the link i just posted a few posts up. I posted a review of the NT05 and the NT05r on a 700hp cobra.

They will do fine for you.

Regular 555s? I can't get them to NOT hook up. 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. :p

I have had these tires for almost three months now and they hook hard. The only thing that sucks is I cant drive on the freeway if it rains because my car goes side ways.

Well that makes sense. ANY drag radial is going to suck on the freeway in the wet. IMHO.

That isn't saying much. If you are referring to the 555r.
