tinted headlight question

yeah i ran the covers that go over the lights and it made a HUGE difference. could barely see ANYTHING at night lol where there is no lights...pretty darn annoying. it made interstate trips at night pretty bad. so now they are off. looks good without them and ahh its nice to be able to see again. but honestly, i have noticed that even the stock headlights suck.

Uhm? Bro I just gave u visual proof that it does not block out the light... I thought it'd block out the light to but it doesn't. I was actually shocked when I took the pics with/without the flash

pittbull, i gotta agree with bullitt. yes you did show pics but you didnt tint them very dark. i have an LED brake light in my lightbar and you cant see it light up during the day. same with my front turning signals during the day, they are very dim but i also blacked them out not just tint them. it all depends on how many coats and how thick or wet the coats are

Well if I can find the thread I'll let you know but Mine arent all that bad. I like Mine. they arent really dark but their def smoked.

heres a picture of mine. I don't recommend any colored light unless you have HID's though. Mine came with Xenons which are the blue tinted ones ( if you click my picture and scroll right on in them you'll see ). I switched to sylvanias. I dont remember which but with the white light its a lot better. the blue is very dim.

I imagine everybody has different opinions, I replaced smoked lenses with new clear after one year cause I felt I lost to much night vision with the smoked.

Mine are very similar to those. I got mine on ebay. They are darker than stock and have clear corners. I use them with HIDs and I haven't had any issues seeing so far!

VHT does block light output. I bet if you took that same picture of the reflector w/out VHT, the reflection would be much brighter (you would have to use the same shutter speed and f-stop to get comparable pictures). All you showed what that VHT doesn't block ALL the light.

I tinted my headlights w/ VHT and it significantly cut down on the light output. VHT is simply a mixture of black paint and clearcoat.
