The car is not a dd so when she does get out she gets driven pretty hard, with quite a few visits to the tracks. Also, can I used the stock GT brake lines with the cobra banjo bolts?

Do you have major brake fade problems? If not get blank rotors, or slotted at the most. And I'm almost positive you have to use the cobra lines and bolts as a pair

yeah i think you have to change the hoses, here is what i got off of AM on their cobra calipers.

Ford Racing Black Cobra Calipers (Front Pair) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

NOTE: Requires the use of 17" Wheels or larger to clear the calipers. Direct fitment for Cobra, Mach1 and Bullitt Calipers. All others require Ford Racing Brackets, Hoses, and 13" Cobra Rotors!!!

I had EBC dimpled and slotted black rotors on my mach, with hawk pads all around, and it was great, very responsive and looked bad ass! Let me see if I can dig up the thread.

they are the same calipers with different mounting brackets. They just use a thinner pad to accept the vented rotor.

Question.. So why is that Porsche, ferarri, lambos and such use Drilled rotors if they are so bad?

...................

Matt do you think you are going to try these gripforce rotors out?

Because it was pretty cheap, dunno how great the pads will be but they had a good sales pitch lol. Some other recent issues set the budget back a lil bit. I got too many micro projects going on and summer is right around the corner.

Well, for Porsche, it's because they don't drill the rotors, they cast their rotors with the "cross-drilling" in them, so they don't experience the same issues with cracking that drilled rotors do. The companies you mention also upsize the rotor such that the surface area is still appropriate to the braking requirements of the car. Another consideration is airflow; Mustangs don't have air ducted to the brakes which can flow through those fancy holes and help keep the rotor from heat-soaking.

For the OP, I suggest Porterfields' R4-S compound. I tracked those on my Cobra up at Thunderhill, and with no other modifications to my brakes had no issues with braking/stopping all day.

Actually they just got delivered yesterday. I might mess with them today if I have a chance. They look like a good quality rotor, everything is done in a consistant pattern and they are vented with what looks like extra reienforcments between the surfaces. They definatly look like they are worth the money... but time will tell.
