Brakes
I just picked up some Cobra calipers and now Im looking for a set of pads and rotors. Just wondering what some of you guys are running for your set up. Im looking for a good pad as I do autocross a few times a year but dont wanna brake the bank. Ive been looking at EBC, Bear and Hawk pads and was hoping for some input on them. Also has anyone used the ebay rotors?

I am running Brembo pads with Powerslot rotors. They seem to feel alot better than the last Hawk pads I ran but it takes some grinding to get them to fit in the brackets correctly.

hmmm. I think i may pick those rotors up if people have some info on them. Seems like a legit company or the place selling them.

I just cant see spending $200-300 on rotors. They seem pretty legit, and have good feedback

did some digging around. a couple guys seem to like them. Gripforce cross-drilled and slotted rotors????? - LS1TECH
ebay "Gripforce" rotors - SRT Forums - SRT4, SRT6, SRT8, SRT10 & Dodge Forum and there are more stuff out there too. I just search "gripforce" into google and got tons of car forums. But from what I read, People were complaining about "drilled" rotors in general and how they can crack but overall people liked these rotors. noone had cracking issues that I read.

Tirerack.com has some good deals on brake rotors and pads. I've got the power slot on mine and haven't hurt them. I've cracked drilled rotors at open track days and avoid them.

I wouldn't even bother with drilled rotors. They look cool, but don't really do anything from what I've seen.
I've got CD&S rotors on my car, front and back. I can start to see tiny surface cracks on the rotors after a year. Just get blank rotors, or at the most powerslots. Ask jazzer or sirl how many serious track people run drilled and slotted rotors. Unless it came on a porsche, ferarri or corvette, probably not many.

If you look at normal rotors, they develop little surface cracks also. I was looking into the power slot rotors but they are still a lil spendy

Don't waste money on drilled and slotted rotors. For normal to "spirited" driving they are actually going to HURT your stopping. Think about it, less surface area on the rotor means less friction created by pad contact which means less braking power. Plus they chew the hell out of pads. Not what you want to do when you're dropping $100 on every set of pads you go through
The ONLY thing drilled and slotted rotors are good for is a track car that is on the brakes so long and hard that they have problems with the rotor heating up and causing brake fade. Well, that and they look cool...? Either get blanks or powerslots. I like this kit from AM with FRPP blank rotors and lines for $250 Ford Racing Cobra Brake Rotors and Lines (Front Only) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

I have Brembo slotted rotors and the OE pads. Love the combo to death.

What ever ones came with the stock 10th anni. cobra calipers. Not sure off hand as I haven't changed the pads since I put new fronts calipers on. I wanna say either motorcraft but something is telling me they're made by pbr (the guys who make the caliper).

I am running some cheapo cross drilled slotted rotors and hawk pads and i wouldn't change them 4 nothing, you just have to bed the pad exactly the way the say i have hit the brakes hard enough that the chin spoiler hit the ground (car is lowered)

I am running DBA cross drilled and slotted rotors and Hawk pads, I dot have a problem with them after the break in but I wouldnt use it on a daily driver. Plus they have color codes on the rotors to let you know how hot they are running.

you don't need drilled, and especially don't need drilled AND slotted.. regular flat rotors are fine, slotted should be ok..
Wagner pads (advanced auto) seem to be approved by a lot of guys on here, for occasional AX they should be fine, not sure how much more Hawk/EBCs are going to be worth the cost to you? If I had the money I'd get the HAWKs, but since you're looking to save money PowerSlot rotors and Wagner pads should do great.
