I'm curious to see what the gains were from a stage 1 cam, most people go for the stage 2 right away

thats because it costs the same to manufacture a stage 2 as opposed to a stage 1 so it seems kind of pointless to get a stage 1 if youre paying the same money...you could get more power with a stage 2

That you're a dream crusher.
I thought stage 2s require notched pistons?

ok. If i went with comp stage 2 I would have had to notch the pistons. I didnt go with vortech cuz i wasnt familiar with them. This is a dd and gas mileage is kinda still a priority lol. But altogether I am very happy with how it turned out.
one question.. ne one know why I am not getting charge to my batt? The alt is good I checked it.. should i put the old alt pulley bak on?

Most stage II's dont have enough duration to require notched pistons.
Edit: All the Comp's website says was to measure your pistong to valve clearance because you may or may not need notched pistons for the Stage II's... big help eh?
