The 8 hour spark plug change.

I was in the middle of changing spark plugs when the second from the front on the left side brought the threads with it.

I do have the triton time sert kit but no air or power ratchets etc. Took me forever to fix it..

Dude i was in same boat, or at least i thought i was. A plug would not thread in, and i was thinking wtf! So i pulled it out and there was a chunk of something on the end. Ended up not being the head though was just some debris that i didn't see fall in there. I lucked out! Was cylinder 8 too, would of been a pain.

As much as possible yes, but it still happens. Use anti seize and don't over torque the plugs. (10-14 lbs). And also hand thread them to avoid cross threading.

I do all that.

Never happened on the stock heads but twice now on the patriots on the drivers side. Once at the track.

Is it just because of shitty threads on the head or what? And yeah jive, no one would have guessed that it would take you 8 hours to change plugs!

I didn't have inserts installed.

I have did 2 now once when my car detonated so bad it chucked the #8 one out(Fuel pump went bad). That's why I had the kit to begin with. Other than the plug thing which I think is fords fault, because after all it 's just a ported stock head, with an improved valve train. I have had mine 2 years now and other than the spark plug thing mine have performed well. No valve train noises smoking from bad seals been spun past 7k several time etc etc.

So far I have subjected the SB and heads to some tremendous abuse and both keep performing great. One detonation so bad it melted one plug and chucked the other. Melted a couple more before I found it was one bad fuel pump that worked some times. I think it was fixed and then it would act up again.

Tapping a spark plug hole while the head is on, and the one time I broke a belt and over heated it. After all this it still put down the 665. I can't imagine if everything was fresh what it might have did.

ya man that sucks, i must have just had a bad experience with patriot cuz i had bad seals from the factory, and the wrong springs when i ask for specific ones so after the install on the dyno i had floating valves and had to pull them again

I'm starting to wonder if I'm not getting a little valve float on the top end, because at 6400rpm I hit 20 psi and stayed there until 6900.

900 bhp But a lot of people take them farther. That will piss me off I getting ready to pulley down. I had a set of high load springs that I was going to use but decide not too
