4.10 gears on the highway?

Ok.....So from everything I read, With a 2001 gt with an automatic tranny I should run 4.10 grears for best launch. My worry is what about on the highway? Right now at 70mph I am at 2100rpm. How much will this increase with 4.10gears? I drive the highway almost everyday for about 10 miles.

For just 10 miles on the highway you shouldn't be worried. I'm just guessing here cause I don't drive an auto, but 4.10's should put you somewhere around 2,500-2,700 at 70ish. Hell with an auto you could go even to a 4.30 and not have to worry about highway driving.

4R70W is an auto, but I'm not sure if that's the one in you car or whether it's std or wide. Google your car and year or the tranny to find out exactly what you have.

Or find out the overdrive ratio in your car and use this one.

That's the exact same position I'm in. Mine is a '01 Bullitt and I doubt I'll ever do the track thing. I just wantsome get-up-and-go. I'm leaning toward 3.73 but not sure if I was 4.10. I don't ever see a SC in my future for this car.

If you're going from 3.27 to 3.73 you will feel a difference, it's when you only go up one gear like from 3.55 to 3.73 it may be hard to tell.
