Does your automatic have an aftermarket high stall converter
I am looking for feedback on high stall converters. Any info will be helpful. Info such as lost driveability and what/whose converter you have and the stall. I am considering a 3800rpm stall from dirtydOg from the tccoa forum. It is a 10" that is modded to stall at 3800rpm and also be able to handle being locked right after the 1-2 shift for even lower et's. I was told it is a little mushy at lower rpm's. If yours is so how/when does it stop, what rpm and did it hurt mileage much? I am not a tarck racer but would like quicker passing times and since the 2nd gear will lock at WOT it should help in those situations. It would lock at a prescribed rpm so if it downshifted to a very low rpm it would not immediatly lock but at the rpm after a 1-2 shift.
So just let me know what/whose converter you are using and your impressions of it, happy, sorry and again it's stall and any quicker times it gave you. Thanks, mark
