there is no such thing as the "best rim" for your car.
rims are always going to be personal preference

The best rims for your car are the ones that look good on it and let you stomp the 1/4 mile in less time than the SRT-4 in the other lane.

Best bang for the buck is going to be anything that came stock on a stang at some point. 03/04 Cobra, 95 cobra R, 00 Cobrar R, saleen, bullitt, FR500,... that's all I can think of for right now. They all look good. And if you're looking for something a little cheaper stay away from chrome. Black, gunmetal, or anthracite (silverish gray) wheels are going to cost a bit less.

As far as what looks the best, that is a wide open question. It's all personal preference. I always liked the 03/04 cobras and the saleens, so I found a set of aftermarket wheels that looked a lot like the saleens and bought those.

Theres a ton of wheels that look good on these cars. Most of them are expensive though. The best looking wheel for the money, like you said in your first post, are going to be a basic rim that came on a mustang at some point or another.

To me a more expensive wheel isn't worth it unless it's extremely light weight.

If you're going for an aftermarket rim, I think that it's all about the stance. Make sure the offset is correct and flush with the body, and anything under 255 in the rear (with all do respect to stock) isn't going to look good. A fat tire on a wide rear rim and a flush look I think you could pull off any decent rim on a stang.

anything bigger then at 18s doesnt look good on our cars so 18s i would say max and you can't beat the sexy look of a wide ass tire in the back

These

True Forged, iForged, CCW, HRE, BBK, Breed.

If you can't afford those, then any of the replicas are nice as well. If you are sitting on cash you might want to check out the for sale forums on SVTP as they have a shit ton of wheels for sale.
