what sort of et?
so this local mustang "club"/forum im on give no respect at all to 2v cars. might as well be driving a honda. so i was on looking at the et list and the fasted 2v na car ran a 13.380@101.45 the next fastest was a 10 sec pass by a highly modded F1 procharged 5L 04 gt (bad ass car btw).
anyway my 2v is more of a driver than a racer i enjoy taking her on road trips with the wife so i dont wanna loose much of my mpg. but what are some of the faster N/A 2v guys times here. i think i saw one that was in the 12's F8L gt? anyway this may be my summer project, to have the quickest N/A 2v in out little group. my car (to me) runs great. ive driven several 2v and 3v gts and i think mine runs stronger. i came from a 90 gt with a 331 stroker and this car feels to be just as strong i know she needs some suspension work possibly some heads and cams but dont wanna put the blower on her just yet. what do u guys sugest?

I'm hoping for my first "12" second timeslip soon.
My best run was 13.05 coasting through the traps on a bracket racing run. Best bang for the buck for lowering your ETs at the strip is gears, sticky tires (drag radials or cheater slicks), a short throw shifter, and some good lower control arms. You don't need a ton of horsepower to get into the low 13s/high 12s with a 2V.

I run 12.91@104.9 with a 256rwhp 2V and very minimal mods, just 4.10's, drag radials, a little suspension, mail order tune, offroad X and CAI.

My car has 3.91 gear in it from the first owner. I figure the power isn't bad for a small displacement N/A motor. Car def needs some suspension tweeks. Just hard to get a feel for what these cars can do around here. Seems like everyone is runnin a 4V or a 3V. Like I said people talk about 2V like they r hondas or something. This is my first mod car. Wish there was an aftermarket support like there is with the pushrod cars
But basically what I'm hearing is a high 12 isn't that far out there of a thought on a N/A car

well it seems you already have the biggest thing taken care of (GEARS) grab a good set of drag radials and that should help you get low 13's i would think.

What is your car? auto or manual? Full bolt ons with a manual car with suspension, DRs and a driver mod will get you into the 12s

Cars a man. Full bolt ons less long tube headers and pullys. Stock suspension. That will be the next thing. So basically what I'm hearing is low 13's-high 12's are what these motors will do N/A?

cams are actually an easy install also, just getting a good tune is always expensive...

Correct, but since you have to cract the valve covers its not really considered a bolt on

12's are pretty easy if you work on your driving, and choose parts wisely.
This is the progression of my car: 14.1 stock 13.8 with a mail order tune, CAI, and offroad X 13.6 with Megabite SRs and street tires 13.3 with BFG Drag Radials and subframe connectors 12.9 with 4.10's and panhard bar, even after adding lowering springs and Bilsteins, which should have hurt my 1/4 mile times. |

I've thought about some heads and cams. Wish there were more options head wise but I've heard good things about the tfs heads. Not so much with the patriots
