Who Installed Gears From AM....

Hey everyone, ordering gears and tuner package this week from American Muscle. Not going to get into which ones (4.10's or 3.73's) that I've decided to get, because I've read enough threads over the last few days and have made up my mind.

My question, do I need to purchase the installation kit they offer with these? Or can I reuse the stock components.

Mustang Rear End Installation Kit at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

Also do I need to purchase the traction lock rebuild? I don't think I would need this. Car doesn't have that many miles on it to start.

Ford Racing 8.8" Traction-LOK Rebuild Kit w/ Carbon Discs at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

And as far as ordering the tuner, does anyone have experience getting a tuner from them. I've ordered numerous parts from them, but the tuner has me a little concern. They say you order it and then they send you and email asking you to list you mods and then you return it to them and they write you a tune. How easy was this for everyone. Any input is helpful. Thanks.

FYI:
My car is a 2003 GT w/ roughly 30,000 mile on it. Go to the track a handful of times each summer. Other mods listed below.

I would get both the rebuild kits. Might as well have all new parts when you install new gears. As far as the tuner, that is normal practice as far as the Emailing goes. That way they can send you a canned tune for your mods.
AM is a great place to buy, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy from the. If you PM the vendor here you may be able to receive a discount as well.

get the trac loc rebuild kit because since your in there its always a good idea to replace it with something stronger than stock. you COULD use the stock set up but my personal recommendations would be to get the rebuild kit and dont look back.

Do a web search for a ford performance shop in Orlando, Florida. I bought new FORD Racing gears and a complete differential and bearing install kit for about $500.

Also unless you have all the special tools and the skill and knowledge don't tackle this job by yourself. Pay a performance shop to do the install.

Get the install kit with the carrier shims. I'm waiting on some shims to finish the install.

just got my tune and absolutely love it. you order it and you get 3 free tunes. they send you an email with a link to a site where you just follow the info about your car. i did and i did it 3 different times. i.e 87,91,and93 octane. if you don't get that email just call give them your order number and they'll send it to you asap. very easy. do it and don't regret it.
