Typhoon manifold

i posted this on another thread but need to learn before i buy a typhoon manifold.

ok so you said the design is bad on the aluminum intake. i think they look the same cept one is aluminum. where am i wrong?

next thing is although people say the aluminum intake gets heat soaked and what not therefore is not a good intake, i can say from experience and looking at the ford recall list that the plastic intake should never have been made out of plastic mine gets hot just the same and is cracked and broken same problem ford had when they recalled it for the crossover.

also not to mention the new 2011's have an all aluminum block and they are predicted to be great cars

heres my proof for my garbage intake(pics are near bottom)
PI intake nipple!

if you want a cheap aftermarket intake manifold get the edelbrock one. Only down side to it is youll need the adapter plate and fuel rails....hell if I were you though id just get the PI with al. crossover, youre not really gonna take advantage of an aftermarket one. Itll prolly even make you feel like you lost power bc generally they cause you to lose power down low and gain up top.

well the issue is my plastic one broke and i know 2 guys who are bothe very well versed in mechanics have rebuilt cars before and they both say that the fact that it is made out of plastic is asking for problems low and behold i am experiencing them. i just want one that is made out of metal and will last and i can buy a typhoon that typically runs 540-600 for 300 so thats why i want it.

Typhoon is junk, it is a copy of the PI except for the lower part.

I know you want to upgrade just because you can, but realistically you will lose power, the PI manifold w/ aluminum crossover would be great for you. Check out this thread for why the typhoon is a POS.

lol ok i guess a lot of people aren't reading so i am getting frustrated.

MY OLD ONE BROKE. everyone knows plastic sux it shouldn't be in cars that because it cracks and breaks metal doesn't typically do that under heat conditions in the engine bay. several people have told me about how the plastic intake was a bad idea no matter how good the design is

i want an intake that will last and not break i dont care about how much horsepower i will or will not gain i just want to know if the product will work well.

What they are telling you is the typhoon is a piece if shit. Go ahead and buy it if it is what you want. but if you don't want to take any feedback on a product don't post asking about it.

OK sure you may have issues with the plastic one but lets think here. Your car is an 00. Im willing to bet that thing is the original one. So 10 years later you had issues with a 180 intake manifold...So 18 bucks a year?....Now lets say you go buy a typhoon, it dont seal worth shit, you get vacuum leaks, all the other issues it has. Was it really worth buying just because it was metal? No....when you could just buy another pi with al crossover that is going to last you plenty long.

Edelbrock is the only aftermarket one worth it in its price range. Youre looking at 280 or something like that for the manifold from summit, then the adapter plate and fuel rails from mmr. Plate is around $70, rails are around $150. So a bit over 500 total.
