Well My T-3650 took a shit. 3rd gear finally went out. ordering the rebuild kit from Welcome to D&D Performance - The 5 & 6 Speed Experts! and gonna replace the factory clutch while im at it. Goin with a centerforce DFX I believe.
Is this the right one for my 2002 GT? Centerforce 01148075 - Centerforce DFX Clutch Kits - Application - SummitRacing.com

does the rebuild kit come with a new beefier input shaft that has 26 splines? if not then you need one with 10 splines if using your old input shaft.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CTF-01800075/ or do you think the DFX is a lil too much?

I would highly recommend upgrading to a 26 spline input shaft, the 10 spline is only good to about 450rwhp before you'll start to see it warping. Sure there are people out there that make a lot more power than that on a 10 spline, but they are on borrowed time. The DFX would be a good choice, I have DF right now, but since i'm upgrading to 26 spline i'm gonna probably get the DFX. I will never get Spec again tho, their clutches suck ass.

My 3650 is also JUNK. Grinds going into fourth gear, unless I let the RPMs drop and slowly put it in gear. And second is starting to be a PITA to get in gear once its warm. Getting a rebuild through a friend and is charging me $550 (thats with me taking the tramission itself to him) I guess this is a decent price. He also said he would "beef" it up, whatever he's beefing up, I'm not sure..

Well I dontplan on making over 450hp..maybe 400rwhp if im lucky. only gonna run 6-8lbs of boost. But I want a clutch that will hold well. So DF or DFX?

a 26 would be good insurance but if you don't ever plan on going much over 400... whatever's in your budget i suppose. i'll be getting a centerforce in a couple months. i'll probably save a little and upgrade to the 26 spline because one day i want to make decent numbers so it'll save me down the road to pay now i suppose.

well i just ordered the rebuild kit and the centerforce DF clutch kit from summit. not the DFX. I think the DF will be fine until I build a new motor down the road.

I have been over 400+ for over 4 years on my 3650, 500+ 3 years of that and 650+ 1 year now using a 6 puck clutch. I even run a stock shifter with a short handle. Was 350+ 1 year prior to that and it was used when I got it. I was told it had about 36k on it. So there's at least 85-90k on it over all with about 50k being over it's max rating.

you can get 3650"s at American Powertrain for $1900 you get 700ftlbs+ tranny but it has the 26 spline or you can get 3650 plus for $1400 and it was tested at 495lbs constant, its the one i'm getting and it keeps the 10 spline but they do somethin to it which makes it hold well of 500 hp.very good customer service

My 3650 lived behind 700rwtq. Poor shifting can cause damage.
