I have been looking at universal kits for a while and none ofthem seem tohaveenough piping. So I think I am gonna start from scratch. buying my own alum piping, and havin someone tig weld it.

I bought an universal kit the first time and had a good bit left. Really doesn't take a lot.

CXRacing is great because they'll also swap out different pipes at no charge...The only difference between that kit above and the specific "Mustang" kit is a "S" shaped pipe.

how are you guys running the cold side IC pipe from the throttle to the IC? Do that hole where the intake goes thru need to be enlarged to fit both the intake tube and IC pipe?

^ that's what I did.

You really didn't hear of people building there own kits back in the day. If you had a vortech you just bought a super expensive vortech ic unit or as almost expensive procharger ic kit. I built my first one for less than 400 including upgrading the bypasses about 5 years ago. Then everyone started doing them making write ups etc.

But people where telling me mine would not perform well etc before I did it. That same ic which was the cheapest I could find in the 31x12x3" size took me clear to 600 rwhp with a small S-trim. I went with a CRX 31x12x4" last year but I'm sure I could have squeezed some more out of it. I just wanted the bigger one if I ever get enough money for a serious Head unit.

CXRacing INTERCOOLER KIT Mustang Turbo Supercharger New : eBay Motors (item 390037953419 end time Apr-10-10 22:40:22 PDT)
Thats the one I bought...I'll have to cut and twist the pipe that goes through the fenderwell though since it doesn't seem to fit properly but that's about it. Everything else is nice.
