sounds like a bad switch or disconnected.
will it go up with the drivers switch?

It does nothing with the drivers side switch, but works fine with the passenger side switch.

Sound like a loose electrical connection or fuse bro. Our switches are pretty tough but sometimes the electrical terminals come loose.

Sure thing, I'll be taking the entire thing apart anyways when I repaint the interior.

I vote for a bad mechanical switch. It's usually the pieces we physically touch/move that fail.

When you took apart the switch,,exactly what did you do?

Best thing would be to take a multimeter and set it 'ring' to test for a short. Then touch the two connectors for the switch,,,make sure it makes NO sound,,then physically push the button to make the window go down, and you should hear it beep/whine/make noise. Then you would know for a fact the switch is good.

Then you're chasing a wire problem. If that's the case, then you need to isolate the two wires that provide your pass. side window fuction. One should be 'hot' with 12V, simply short them with a piece of wire/paperclip - you should activate the window.

Obviously you'd have taken the whole switch mechanism out of the door to do these tests.....

...if you make it up to Boca this week I'd be happy to test it for you.

If it turns out to be a switch I have one for sale.

An easy check would be to run a test light on it. Check to see if power comes to the switch at all. If not then your problem is before the switch. Check to see if power comes out of the switch when it's engaged, if not then it's the switch. If power comes to the switch and out from the switch when it's engaged then you have a problem after the switch where it runs over to the passenger side. At least that would narrow down where you had to look for a problem

I think it's funny that when a button or switch doesn't work, our first instinct is to hit the button harder. Especially on remotes with dead batteries.

you know,,,,,in a way,,,on certain devices this holds true. As you're actually smashing the contact pads down on each other harder,,,,,providing more surface area for contact,,thus better electron flow.

....certain devices,,certain situations...
