gears, nitrous and exhaust. that should make it so that you won't be embarassed by him anymore. sounds like he has done some modding to his car as well.

A procharger is a brand of centrifugal supercharger, ATI Procharger. If you have a 3000 dollar budget, just save 500 more bucks and get that supercharger. Tons of guys wish they did that instead of spend 3000 dollars on bolt ons and get a couple rwhp and not see or feel anywhere near what they would with Forced induction. Just get the supercharger and be done with it, then get the supporting mods later, (exhaust and gears especially, and a bigger TB and plenum etc...)

edit: you dont HAVE to stick to the ATI Procharger either, if you decide on a supercharger..... if you wanna go centrifugal look also into the Vortech V2 SQ and T trim and Paxton Novi 1000 and 2000. They are all reputable brands and all net about the same gains. Look into the "Mongoose" kit as well. Maybe someone else on here can tell you more about that, its a package deal i've heard great things about.

my car came with a roots type sc and I like it pretty good, I think 3 grand would put u close to bein able to put on a sc. Im not sure though. Help me out ACMillr, Neckbone, Drgnracin.

Maybe u should look around and try to find a used sc, put it on, and run low boost to be safe on a daily driver, if thats what your car is used for. If u ever go the sc route on your car later on, REMEMBER- do not run HIGH boost on a non-forged engine, some people will tell u a regular gt engine will handle high boost just fine, but Im a "Better to be safe than sorry" kind of guy, especially when it comes to moddin daily driver cars of any make or model, dont get me wrong, someone could throw alot of boost to a non forged engine and it would be fine for a while, but I dont think it would be worth it cuz the chance of breakin something would be really high

yeah if both of ya'll r good drivers and if ya'll both had decent traction, he most likely had a mod or two, IMO

Put a 125 shot of nitrous on it and let the good times roll.

What you do with the 3K you save over a S/C is up to you.

ok so with three thousand i could beat this guy. thanks for the info. and also could a stock GT beat a stock srt-4 cause i always thought that mustangs were really fast so when picking out a car i thought i would be able to hold my own in most cases with a GT.So did this kid have to have his srt-4 modded to beat me or is it just faster stock. I dont know that much about cars but i know i have a v8 4.6L and he has a 4c like 2.4 or something so what happened? and thanks again for the info

I think a sc would be a better value over the long run, you would have instant added power anytime u wanted for a long while, and u wouldnt have to worry about fillin up bottles. BUT a nitrous kit is a good cheaper power adder

Actually, more like 4G's minimum. You can get a Vortech tuner kit for about three, but you will need a tune. If you are looking to spend 3G's, go with heads, cams, upper plenum, TB, and a 100 shot of nitrous (wet). You could easily come in under 3G's if you do all the work yourself. I would think that you could easily see 375 HP on the ground.
Well, wait, you would also need exhaust. I still think you could come in under 3, but you would have to do some deal hunting.

I was going to tell you how much money I've spent on my car so you could see how affordable it all is. However, after doing some quick math, I don't want to scare the hell out of you. I could have easily afforded a KB blower by now, but I will def. be ready for forced induction if/when I go that route..............

You have the slowest V-8 muscle car sold. Come to grips with that. So do I. You need to consider serious mods to keep from being embarrassed by those turbo 4 cyl cars. V-8 Mustangs are plenty fun but they are not the big dog by a damn sight. Nitrous or a super charger will cure. Look in your pockets and decide.
