From what I've heard you don't want to cut your GT springs because their not linear, they're progressive. There's a few "dead coils" you might be able to get away with cutting off but thats only gunna give you like a 1/4 inch drop. You're better off to just spring for a pair of lowering springs. If you maybe spend a couple hundred bucks you will have a much better ride quality. A lot of the guys on here have them. They can give you some idea of which ones to get.

If you can get some GT springs for cheap, get them and cut like 1/2 coil out of each and put them in. Drive it for a week. If you want it lower, pull them out and cut a little more out. Keep cutting until it sits where you want it.
If you ever get tired of the ride quality or have any problems with the cut springs, just throw your stock springs back in or buy some actual lowering springs.

. There are a lot of guys here running cut springs with no issues. Hell I think even shapeshifter has been running cut springs for a few years. I to am also running cut springs. 1/2 coil cut 4cyl springs in the front and 1/2 coil cut stock springs in the rear

Just make sure to make the cut surface match how the uncut surface was, i.e. if the top of the spring is flat, after you cut the spring, pound the top of it flat again. It's the failure to match the old setup that causes cut springs to have such a bad rap when it comes to ride quality.

LOLZ
Nope, the other guy had it right. It's better to cut linear springs because you don't really change the spring rates. Cutting a progressive spring changes the rate, that's why everyone has a cow about it.

Well Thats What Il Going To Do That Then, And It Is A Two Post Lift,
Also The Reason All The First Letters Are Caps Is The Way The Forum Does It, I Alwas Leave My Caps On Here At Work So It Easier For People To Read Work Orders, When I Post Some Thing It Puts All The First Letters Caps And The Others Small |

Makes my eyes hurt. LoL. IF you are going to cut your springs, I'd follow the suggestion of picking up a junker set to do it on, that way you can swap back your stockers if need be. I've always been one to say no to cutting, but its because of what has been pointed out here, most times it isn't done properly and thus leads to poor results. As shown by the others members who successfully run cut springs it can be done if done right.
And it is progressive rate springs that you DON'T want to cut, aka, Stang springs, because you will most likely change the rate by removing coils. This is why I'm normally against it, because people just chop off whatever without thinking of what they're doing to the rate, and don't know to match it as close as possible to the stock springs contact surfaces and coil position.
