I'm not completely sure but I always thought you had to use Griggs' whole unit. Just call Griggs and see what they say. They won't bs you into buying parts you don't need

sure they will
![]() The Griggs uppers just a square tube that welds into the front section of the frame into its channel. The back of it goes up against the bulkhead after protruding up through the floor. This will probably make the OEM electric seats be un-usable due to lack of space under the floor, but not positive. You can take a look at my garage and see a pic of this upper support and how it may look. There is also an option of uppers going through the bulkhead and into the rear sub-frame. This allows this bar to be lower and afford additional clearance under seat. This is a more involved installation and hence, cost more. Jazzer ![]() Talk to John at Griggs. I brought my car out to Griggs shoppe and had them do all the work. I later installed an MMRSB #4 to address understeer issues, but John doesn't much care for it
Keep in mind, that if you go Griggs WL, you WILL lose the abilty to carry a spare tire in the well of trunk. Approx. 1/3 of it needs to be blocked off in order for the WL travel to have clearance. This is why I went PHB as my g/f and I do LOTS of road trips way out in the boonies. One time, way out in the middle of nowhere, we heard this pair of guys playing banjos and took off like a cat out of Hell! Jazzer.... drivin' for his life

I'm almost positive that griggs will tell you that if you want to put in their upper, you will need to replace your current subs with their's.
Simply because they don't want to worry about compatability or issues with their guarantees. They will stand by a 100% their design, but they don't want to be associated with a frankenstein that performs badly.
