Help me figure out what is causing this noise

I have a 5-speed 2000 Mustang GT which has been been making this squeal/grind type noise very briefly when I first start moving in first. It usually only happens after the car has been sitting, and after I've stopped and started moving a few types I don't hear it anymore. Sometimes I don't hear it at all from the get-go. The car drives great, and I had a mechanic take a look at it and couldn't find anything obvious(though it was just a quick check). The clutch grabs well and driveability isn't being effected, but I just can't figure out what it is.

It's deeper than a break squeal but still sounds like metal on metal. It's been suggested to me that the IAC can cause a similar "horn-like" sound as well, but I'm not sure if that is it. My idle is fine. Any help would be appreciated.

Here is a video of the sound. I used my phone and just set it on the dash as I started moving in 1st:

Would,'t that effect my everyday driving, though? This is my first manual car and I thought that when the throwout or pilot bearing went I would hear it pretty consistently. The clutch seems to be fine FWIW.

Mine has a noise in first sometimes too. It's not as bad as what you've got going on though.

It's not good, but I can't be 100% certain that is it. I'm just taking my best guess at it.

If it was the TOB you would hear it when the clutch is engaged and it would be more of a squeal or chirping sound. I don't think that it will cause any short term damage but you might want to take it someplace and have it checked out.

I had a mechanic drive it around but it just wouldn't make the noise when he was driving. It is usually only the first time I get moving, which is why it is so weird. After that the drives normal. I'll have to try pushing the clutch in while I hear it, to see if it stops at that point. I do plan on getting it checked out though, because it is slowly getting more frequent. Thanks for the input.

I see that you are in Crofton btw, I work right on Route 3 a bit past Wall Chapel.

I work at a store called Executive Wireless in Crofton Station, which is right by the Giant food on Route 3. I'll be there most of the day Saturday if you happen to be around.
