just put on my new saleens!

just put on my 18" chrome saleens, 305s in the back, and looks 100 percent better. 265 35 18 up front 305 35 18 on the back, so the back tires side wall is a bit bigger but nothing major I don't think. I know 'this thread is worthless without pics', but I'm going to try and give it a wash tonight and then take some pics, keep yas informed.

and the back should be a bit "bigger". Better than the front being bigger!

I need to take a picture in the parkade, the color of the car, and the chrome shines like crazy and looks sick as hell.

Looks nice man. I am kicking myself hard in the ass right now for going with 275's out back. I cant stand the look of the sidewall bubbling in, not protecting the rim. Yours turned out great. What tire did you end up going with? Looks like Nitto's eh?

thanks, ya I ended up going with the nittos, 265-35-18 nt555 up front and 305-35-18 nt555r in the back, Like I said I'll post better pictures in a few days when its nice and clean, looks much better. Also, I've never torqued wheels with a torque wrench before, always just do it with a breaker bar. But seeing as I now have a torque wrench sitting around the garage, I'm wondering what are the torque specs for these wheels? anyone know? I'm sure it said on the wheel package/info but thats at the wheel shop now probably in the garbage.

I torque my lugs on my 18's at 100 lbs. That should be fine. Many, I am seriously kicking myself in the ass. Im close to tears, not even joking. Well, OK, definitely joking, but you get my point. Tires are a very important part of a cars feel/look. I cheaped out and let my pocket get the best of me. Its not the end of the word, but its certainly not the best choice I could have or should have made. Fuk.....

oh, Ya the car was a rebuilt mustang, hence being lightly damaged on the side. Originally had the 04 side scoops I'm sure, but the guy who I bought the car off of sold lots of smashed mustangs, and probably just threw on 2 scoops that he had to make them match. I actually prefer this style of scoop over the newer one to be honest.

I hear ya, I've been talking about getting rims for quite some time now and looked into it for a while. Buddy at the tire shop had me convinced to put 245 40 18 up front and 285 35 18 in the back. Luckily I posted that on here and people talked some sense into me haha. Back tires are nice and beefy, and finally got rid of that typical stock look where the rear tires look sunk into the fenders.

I got one quick question though, for those running wider tires up front, do yas find the drivability is worse? I know it will grab the bumps and curves in the road more but at highway speed my car feels kind of loose in the front end, wondering if buddy at the tire shop didn't balance them right. With the new rims and tires, do you think a new alignment is needed?

i was told with wider tires in the front, the car will tend to walk on you.

someone told me to do 245s up front....or you will experience what you are talking about
