Gear Install kit

I am buying a used set of 4:10's from a fellow member of Corral Forums for like $85. Pretty good deal is you ask me. Anyhow, I was just wondering what install kit I REALLY need to get. I have researched this and it seems like a pretty even amount say to get the on with the bearings that is more money, and others say don't worry about it.

My car is just shy of turning 60k. I know, shes growing up so fast, I know!!

This one: Mustang Rear End Installation Kit at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

OR this one: Rear End Installation Kit (8.8in) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

Essentially, option numero dos has, is the bearings.

My Master Ford Mechanic buddy who will hopefully be helping me install the gears in my car installed 3:73's in his Bullet a couple of months ago and he did not use the bearing kit. He said you can get away with using the factory bearings if your careful.

Thoughts please.

Thanks,
Sean

No one asked you

You should get the bearing kit anyway. If you're in there, you should do it right. I'm SURE you have that gut feeling that's like ehhhh, I think this is the right way to do it, but maybe I'll get away with not doing it.

50-60k is the said threshold for bearing kit being recommended anyway... Why chance it? Especially considering how much labor is.

Yeah, that usually holds true, and I am in no way, shape, or form saying that gears are something to "cheap out" on. I am just trying to do this for as little coin as possible. I am a nit to begin with, but I somehow a way to get a new mod here and there....hehe.

I have a quick one on the note of speedo calibration. I obviously do not want to add more miles to my car, because if I DO NOT correct or calibrate my speedo, the car will think I am going faster than I actually am, therefore, putting more miles on my car, correct?

I reaaaaally want a tuner, but really don't want to dump anymore money into the damn thing. Any ways around it other then tuner o Speedcal?
