Weird feeling after spring install...not wheels or springs I dont think.
This has to be the issue, shocks and struts. I recently did new wheels/tires and the Pro Kit. I am thinking either my factory shocks/struts just aren't liking the lowering springs, or one blew out.
She goes over bumps fine, and if someone didn't know any better, they would assume the car rides like a dream. But not to me, something is definitely wrong. Its hard to explain, but its there. What is the cheapest set of good shocks and struts for say the Pro Kit springs? Not sure if I need adjustable or not. Only been to the track once, and plan on going a few more times this summer. It's making a weird feeling, sort of like a wheel bent or tireout of round, but its not. There is some kind of inconsistency in normal driving. I can feel it at speed of 34-45 the greatest, but its always noticeable. Just some more then others. Two of my pretty intelligent mechanically sound buddies said they think it could be a blown shock or strut. Thanks, Sean |

Im not sure if you have them but when i lowered mine i didnt remove the quad shocks in the back and it rode funny. after taking them out it sat lower and rode allot better. but if you blew a strut you would know cause the car would look bagged and make noises like a chirp. have your lowering springs relaxed yet?

If your looking for inexpensive, simple, good quality shocks/struts go with the Tokico HP's.

Eibach Pro-Dampers are designed specifically for the Pro Kit and Sportline springs.
Have you had your car aligned yet? If you've lowered it, you definitely need to get it aligned.

I have had it aligned, what do you mean by "quad shocks". The upper control arm? I don't get it because my car doesn't sit funny at all, it rides fine over bumps and hard roads. The springs APPEAR to be perched correctly, and if I can remember right, w did tighten everything up and torque to specs. Anything else this could be guys? What could I get into some Tokico HP's for? Anyone else running them?

$330 for a set from AM. Eibach Pro Damper (which were designed specifically for your springs) are $450.

Have you done a bounce test at all four corners? That would let you know almost definitively if you have a blown shock. I know some shocks do NOT like riding at a non-stock ride height, and lowering the car can do bad things to your damper performance.
I wouldn't get adjustables unless you know specifically the conditions in which you'd adjust them and why (and I don't mean "soft for DD, stiff for racing"). These are the quad shocks: ![]() They're being removed in that picture, which is exactly what you should do if you have good LCAs.

No I don't wanna pay $25 to join a club lol...Plus the meets are on weeknights, when I'm working. I might just try and head up to Auto Fair tomorrow morning if this rain holds over.

Your gonna have to give a better explanation as to why you think somethin is wrong. If the car rides good and theres no noises coming from your struts they are fine. Dont start spendin money to fix stuff that isnt broke and be no better than before.

OK, there is most definitely something wrong. I have tested the shocks and struts by simply pushing down a few times on each corner. There was no rebound, which means they are good, right? My buddy who has an SS Camaro, watched me do it and he siad they were fine.
My buddy who helped me install the springs and who also graduated from an automotived tech school and is extremely smart when it comes to Mustangs, said, when he drove it, that he couldnt really feel anything. But he said thats probably because he doesnt drive the car a lot and wouldn know what to feel for. However, he said he thinks it could be a shock or strut either not responding well or one is getting weak or blown. Anyhow, heres the best example I can describe. I will be driving the car and it feels as if something in the rear left suspension is just not working right. Like something is moving up and down, like the spring or something is not staying consistent or the shock is not reacting properly. Honestly, it feels like the shock(s) are not working properly. It's the only thing that makes any sense. I will be driving along and an inconsistancy in something makes me aware. Whether it's a spring, CA, or shock, IDK, I had the tires rebalanced and there are no bent rims. At least the tire shop didn't note any. |

Those stick-on wheel weights are notorious for coming off...if a re-balance is free, start there.

Dude, I just said I got them re-balanced. And no, it's not free. It;s definitely not the balancing, at least I don't think it is. It's not big enough to throw a red flag, but small enough to drive me insane.
