Disaster strikes
Ok, before anyone starts feeling sorry for me or anything, let me just say that my MMR 950 stroker gets here next Friday.
Ok, so my car already had a chipped piston on the number four cylinder, but not big enough to not drive. It would only have a slight miss at idle. Well last week after a hard second gear pull, I started hearing a ticking sound. I got home and my initial thought was the fly wheel. I had a guy tell me that if it were the fly, it would make a lot worse noise than a clicking sound. He said to check the UDP, to see if a bearing went bad. So today, I started it and tried spraying lube on the pullies, but still same thing. I got down under the hood and listened while moving the throttle body. I narrowed it down to the driver's side valve cover. The clicking sound is a repeatitive sound, but it is not there all the time, and it gets louder and faster with rpm. tried driving it, and it seems to be normal aside from the clicking. When driving, it kinda goes away when i let off the throttle, and it starts again as soon as I touch the gas the slightest bit. What could it be??

I was thinking a lifter myself. When you say about to throw a rod, do you mean a conecting rod in the shortblock? I could see that doing a lot of internal damage to the block and heads. Not too worried about the heads, but I wanted to rebuild the block for later use.
