lose cam follower after cam mod

i hope someone can help me out i just did a cam install on my 04 gt 2v. the car got 18k and some change on it. was letting car warm up and herd ticking noise comming from the last cyclinder on pass side. just didnt sound right. so shuter down and pulled valve cover off. and found the cam follower was lose on the lash adjuster and valve. when lobe is up the follower is not touching cam . when motor is turned by hand the valve and lash seemed to work. from what i can see.

your lash adjuster may not be pumped back up. I asume you put them in a vise.

the car ran for about 20 mins . the lash was hard to push down like it was pumped up. what can i do to check valve to see if its bent other than removing the head. thats what i dont want to do. i do all my own work so labor is free thank god. the drivers side is fine . and could it be some how out of time. installed cam gears at 11 o'clock on pass side and 12 o'clock on drivers side. with crank keyway at tdc mark about 11 o'clock

Do a compression check.......compression low bent valve. Also if you have a bent valve etc you should have a engine miss.

it would be a wise idea to replace that lifter. could have damaged it in the vice or something.. they should pump up in just a couple seconds.

Yup...sounds like thats what it is. Common problem for those that bleed them in a vice trying to make it easier to install the rockers/followers vs just using the right tool.

thats what i did i got a new lash adjuster on way .is there any way to adjust the lash adjuster. i seen a pic with a small flathead in the adjuster. there is no miss in motor the car sounds great. only problem is the lose follower when cam is up. and the loud ticking. is the very last valve on pass side intake. thats the one that is lose

what about degreeing the cams . i dont think you can do it with heads on car if you can how. the cams i installed are trickflow stage 1's with my stock heads changed springs and seals. didnt take heads off . i couldnt afford to change out the heads. i have most bolt on's , on the market. only thing next is to twist it??? hopefully next year i can do that.

you can only do it with the heads on.It is a little harder when the motor is in the car (not alot of room).Just look in the search box for degreeing cams and you will see tons of write ups.
