Tomzac I believe originally posted this on 3.8mustang.
There are a few members on that v6 board who have done this to 99-04 V6s. It requires a custom fabbed lower intake manifold. But its true, it requires more work then necessary for small gains. |

I have a good idea. Let me spend 8 grand tearing my engine apart to install a cheap S/C I got on ebay, when I could of just went and bought a procharger that fit my car for 5,500.

MOST LIKELY USED THE EATON FROM A SUPER COUPE T-BIRD CAUSE IT CAME STOCK WITH THE EATON JUST SMALLER THAN THE 03 COBRA

This maybe the wrong tread to ask this question in, but I will give it a shot. Tork Tech Inc, an engineering company in Oregon has just completed the designs and testing for a roots style supercharger for the 99-04 4.6L. They are currently seeking 4 volunteer cars that would like to have the S/C installed in the Oregon/SW Washington area. Cost installed for the complete kit, with the SCT X-Cal II, intake, throttle body etc. is $3500.00 including the dyno tune. Based on previous testing of the 4.6L with all stock internals, the rods let go at 436 rwhp and 420 pound/feet of torque. The initial non-inter cooled version will yield roughly 375 to the tire.
If you have an interest or know someone that might, please have them e-mail rfedd@aol.com. There will be some requirements on reporting back on performance, mileage etc.

about that cobra motor
i have an 04 gt and lookin to make it faster. i thought about a few different things. put a supercharger on my 2 valve or put a cobra motor in my gt and then an upgraded supercharger. what do you think my best solution is? keep in mind im 18 and bought the car a year ago.
