Pony Surgery

Had to do a little pony surgery and thought id share pics with you guys . A couple of you already know the deal but for those that dont. I was sitting in a parking lot last friday letting someone cross the road, next thing you know some skank dropped her car in gear and hit the gas w/o even looking behind her and slammed right into the left quarter, car is paid for so I took the ins check and fixed it myself. Took 7-8 hours start to finish goofing off and taking my time. This is also what I do for a living so in the end I came out on top.

Anyways heres the pics. Had to split it between 2 links bc I used 2 different cameras [first few are olympus, second are nikon d40] and if I try to host them together they get all mixed up...Imageshack also likes to host them backwards so its best to view from bottom of page up. For those wondering why the process my seem a bit "different" I did things a bit different than at work since its my own car. For example when I started to pull it instead of just grinding a huge area around the damage down to bare metal and going at it I did it spot by spot as needed then once it was ready for mud ground the whole area. Helps keep the repair area smaller and incase I had to leave bare metal exposed over night before filler (did the metal work last night) it would be a minimal amount.

First pics: ImageShack Album - 23 images

Second pics: ImageShack Album - 18 images

The upside is I repainted the whole car about 4-5-6 months ago. So I knew exactly what brand, variance, clear, etc was on it as well as little to no sun fade in that amount of time so matching was no issue at all. Also doesnt look like I primed it but I was using basf uv primer. Goes on a baby shit green transparent color. For those of you wondering how much ins paid out and such check bottom of page 2.

Thanks...Yea skanks suck...hate doesnt quite describe my feelings for this bitch...it was a mess. She wouldnt give me her ins, kept saying her brother would fix my car , after going round and round, finally got ins card from her. Something seemed a bit odd about that and her not wanting to go through ins...The whole time we sat there she was on and on about her brother fixing it n all kinds of shit. "my brother fix car, he fix your car, it easy fix" all kinds of broken up bullshit. She could barley even speak english...called someone and spoke some weeiiirdddd language ive never heard before.

Glad you got it fixed for fairly little. Too bad it happened though.

Just curious, where are you located?

Sent you a pm about location. "Glad you got it fixed for fairly little." I made out like a bandit. $90 is all I spent in materials lol, dont really wanna say how much the estimate was on here but will via pm if anyone is interested in asking.

I think something nice for the car and dinner for the wife is in order. I would say something for yourself but figured the car was the same thing.

Pulley, slightly smaller belt, a tune from brooks speed is in the making. Just gotta get that money in hand and get everything worked out time/schedule wise...Also gonna use the money ive been trying to save for a new tune to get some che upper/lower control arms and spherical bushings from casper. If it wasnt for needing a good tune id prolly just pay it all towards a new toolbox I got last week.

Kinda dreading spending around 1k on just a tune though :/...I live in one hell of a shitty location when it comes to tunes.

Oh yea...no wife either...just live in gf...so all the money is for the horse and myself

Gotta get a new bumper bracket too....hammer slipped and knocked the shit outta the edge of the bumper and bent the bracket. Bumper was sticking out about 2" farther than the quarter lol. I got it bent back to where it looks fine but would rather go ahead and get a new one since theyre cheap.

..1k for a tune??!? That SUCKS! Pro-Dyno in Fort Mill (Pittbull, I KNOW you've had to have heard of them) does a great job for only $500.

And I wish I could do that crap, I need a new rear bumper (mines filled with bondo and is starting to crack a tiny bit), but it's good to have connections. I can get a NEW Oem bumper and painted to match (guaranteed to match) for $450.

400 mile drive each way.

Tune = $500 flat
Gas = $200
Hotel = $100 or so
Trailer = $100 or so
Food and misc shit easily makes up for another $100

That place you mentioned use diablo? Thats the other big obstacle. Dont really care to switch back to sct just bc the hassle.

No, SCT, I've never had a tune, but a BUNCH of mustang guys I know in Charlotte use them and only them and they've done nothing but praise them.
They tuned Greg Biffle's 07 GT500, 23 lbs boost, 821 hp, 801 ft-lb torque.
Where do you live?
