alternator diodes

Are they replaceable? Or does it require huge amounts of digging in the alt? I'm getting ac voltage registering. I'm not positive of the amount, since the bottom of my multimeter is fubared ( decimal and bottom of number doesn't work).

and how much are these diodes? Found voltage regulators for about 30 bucks. Can't find diode packs (tho I'm, on phone so hard to search).

they are replaceable, ask for a rectifier bridge(sp?) at an alt rebuild shop. a parts house may carry them, I don't know

Ok is it a pain or not too bad? And any specific ones for our alts, or upgraded ones?

Every time i push in clutch for 3+ seconds the voltage drops to about 12 for a solid 5+ seconds or until i rev it. That sound like diodes or voltage regulator? Cruising on highway i can get a steady 13.5-6. And it is lower rpm than driving around town... seems weird! WOT still hitting 12's. But main problem is the low voltage spikes for drivability. Im going to try contacting my alt builder again. But want to make sure im giving him the right info (and hopefully get a brand new alt).

Got a good ac voltage reading... got 29.x. Guess i found problem. Hope it isn't difficult to replace. Looking now and i can only find the external rectifiers, and i think they are a supplement not a replacement?
