Isolators: Squeak or no squeak? That is the question.
OK here's the deal. I just install the ProKit and am pissed on how it sits and my decision. I know if I take my isolators out, I will get about another .5" lower. However, I am meticulous as shit and hate noises and stuff. It's a lot of work to quickly find out that I will have to throw those damn things back in.
I would like you to vote. Vote on both whether yours squeak or not and whether I should do them for my scenario. Only vote if you have ever taken them out. |

i don't have isolators on my setup and haven't heard a squeak yet (knock on wood). even if i did though i don't think i would hear it over my supercharger and exhaust though.

I have the Pro Kit as well w/ NO Iso's, and love the stance. Do I wish it were lower like my buddy's 2000 w/ Sportlines? Yes. Do I like mine more for the strip though? Yes. Just take out the Iso's, and get some CC plates.

Can't vote, but grease or tape'em or just buy/trade for lower springs. Also keep in mind, the lower you go, the more problems you're going to have to deal with; parking garages, speed bumps, driveways, pot holes etc.

ITS A VERY GOOD IDEA!! and i dont think any body knows about it at all. Im about to make a new thread just clearning this up for people debating weather to leave them in or take them out because of squeek. Just put a shit load of greese on the top of the tail and all on the bottom. It works.

duct tape would wear off in about a week, so thats pointless. okay, i was kinda kidding about putting gobs of grease on but you get my point.

Electrical tape works fine and I never heard any noises. Really no difference besides the stance

No ISOs in the rear of mine and only top ISOs in the front, haven't heard a peep out of it. The ride is kinda rough up front though, but having an IRS in the rear definitely smooths things over.
