Car Weight
Someone said 99-04 GT's weigh about 3250lbs. They were talking about drag racing and wiht a driver it would be a little over 3400lbs. The sticker on my 02 GT door says GVWR- 4490. Whats wrong here

Yeah I have the same question! Maybe its saying 4490 when there are 4 average sized adults in it. I havent a clue.

Find a truck stop with a public scale and weigh the car as it will be when you take it to the track. Just look in the phone book for a public scale.

Gross vehicle weight is based the car being full of passengers (typically 175 pounds each) and luggage. On the sticker it should say max luggage weight.

my car at the track is 3535 with me in it. (i weight to much) Its an 03 GT hardtop.

My 03 GT hardtop, manual trans, with leather power seats, and a 12" subwoofer in the back, spare tire removed, weighed in at 3490 with 1/2 a tank of gas and 200 pound driver.

GVWR: means that is the most that car can weigh with everything under the sun you can throw in it....and still be safe to drive.
