Ok my .02 I run meth on my car.My tuner is very conservative and does not blow his customers cars up (even when we beg him). My non meth tune is very safe however you never know. If it is a very hot day and a bad tank of gas it could happpen. So I run a meth tune that is a little more aggressive and would probably be fine if the pump took a turn for the worse. But when you feel the intake after a pull on the dyno and it is cool to the touch you know it is safer than running a street tune without it. As far as gaining more hp from the cooler intake temps my sensor is in the maf meter and I don't think it would like me spraying it before the meter. Some of our cars have the temp sensor that is in further down stream. But mine is in the maf.Once again it sucks to be me!

what about the potential non-homogeneous distribution issues? That is my biggest issue with meth. If there was a better direct injection kind of thing that would be way better than trying to spray meth into a manifold designed to only flow air.

trick tuners-isn't that the same problem with drawing gasoline down a carb or pushing nitrous and fuel through a single nozzle? I am not that worried about it like I said I only use it as an added measure I don't gain much with it.

Carbs and their corresponding intake manifolds are designed to flow fuel. I don't know n2o setups though so can't say anything there.

Sorry I thought you were refering to distribution, if it is distribution. Then moving air or fuel from a single point and distributing it evenly to eight different points is difficult to say the least.(I agree with you). But I am not sure I would worry about how much meth gets into each port. The meth is a fine mist speayed into a rapid stream of air rushing past the nozzle. Just my thoughts.

Personally I only see good things from it and am a fan of using it on any boosted car. Where alot of people go wrong imo, run an agressive timing curve and take fuel out to compensate for the meth. This is why I run a 350ml nozzle and 50/50 mix(I mix my own stuff). I have not taken out any fuel in the tune and run 18* timing...which is good for 93oct alone. What I do is run more boost and make power this way.

One thing to keep in mind. I have ran methanol injection for many years(mechanical inj) and one thing for sure- methanol does not like aluminum. it will eat it up.
I am not a fan of methanol injection because I think the problems that come with it on a street car is not worth it, you have to be on top of it constantly(maint. wise). for a track car it may be the ticket thou

Thats the problemb with mech inj...if you were to go with 150-200psi pump you will virtually vaporize all the liquid instead of relying on the rotors to mix the stuff..

by mechanical injection I ment like enderle, hilborn(like one on the eng. in my sig.), crower, kinsler etc. I was just saying do not use any alum. fitting's such as russel etc, methanol(pure)eats alum like candy

Snow Performance
Snow Performance kits for Positive displacement Blowers/Turbos. This is what I'm looking at getting. It comes with a monitor that shuts off the pump solenoids and retards timing when you run out of fluid, so no worries of detonation.

The bigger the shot the worse it is. (and the more you need it). I would say that it depends on your goals. If you are a weekend racer with another DD, and can pay for the consequences, go for it! (or just use race gas)
