What are your spring rates and what rate are the fox dampers set for? How big are the fox dampers compared to our stockers?

I am guessing you have eibach lowing springs or something of that nature. I have really never seen any problems from stock struts(in good shape) on a lowered car... We lower them all the time with all types of springs and have no issues...

mine only have 40k on them, im posotive that is the problem. i have ruled out everything that the small clunk could be down to the struts. iv tryed the stockers and a set of blue tokiko struts i have also. they both make the same "clunk". im going to get some fox ones from work and give them a shot

That's quite odd that ur struts are shot. Mine has 102k miles on the stockers, lowered 1.5" and it still ride great.

Well what exactly is the sound?
BTW-You don't need Fox Struts. Get ones for your car. Unless you plan on getting the Lakewood 50/50 shocks for the back (they only come for Foxes) don't bother w/ Fox parts. Are you looking just for like a Stock-Replacement or Performance? |

its just a weird clunk when i hit bumps, cc plates are tight, ball joint is tight, swaybar is tight and tie-rod end is tight. i had it on a lift last night and checked everything. when i took the tokiko's out the bump stop was pushed to the top of the strut shaft. so im guessing the noise is the strut bottoming out inside its self. i have heard of guys running fox body struts on there cars when they are lowerd becasue they are a shorter strut.
do you think that i should try a pair of those??

Was that bump stop bottomed out before?
Usually stock shocks are fine on lowered cars but there are always exceptions. You could just throw the fox shocks in and see if they help/eliminate the problem

I have the Eibach Shocks/Struts (pro damper kit) w/ Steeda springs.. when I got the car it had stock Shocks/Struts.. I never had any problems with noises or bumping.. I did notice ride quality improvement with the Eibachs.. I'd check your sways and busings too, sometimes those creak and make noise and they get old..
If the noise is in the rear check the UCA/LCAs too.

Check underside of hood for clearance of strut top. With adjustable c/c plates the spacers need to be set right so that when cornering or traveling over uneven surfaces the top of the struts don't go too high. When I first installed my suspension I had to go through a little bit of trial and error with that and some puddy to make sure they didn't contact the hood.

LOL I bet. Was that tokico bottomed out before you put it in there. To me it sounds like you're right, and the shock is just bottoming out.
