SCT Re-Tune Question

hey guys i have been on sct's site and read the pdf manual and cant find the answer to my question....the question is this when you disconnect the battery of attempt to jump start the vehicle does the vehicle go back to factory settings or does the tune stay in?....the reason i ask is because today the starter went out in the stang but i got a brand new one not a remanufactered one and it fires right up but it sound different now when firing it up.....also i never had any signs of it going bad it just went out out of nowhere.... so i had it tested and it was bad just spins but doesnt in gauge.....so i was wondering if my tune got deleted so i went ahead and reinstalled it but i was wondering was it still there or not?

The tune stays. Its actually loaded into the ecu/ecm/whatever you prefer to call it just like you would save something on the harddrive of your computer.

Yeah, all is true. What you're hearing is probably either just the new starter kicking up more power because its new. Or i've heard disconnecting the battery can reset certain parameters within the tune that can make it run better simulating something like reflashing it again like it just got put on. Idk, just something i've heard because your car adapts over time to highway driving and what not.
